The Donald Trump appears cautious about talks with Iran, saying there is progress but Tehran’s response does not fully satisfy him.
In another crucial episode in the behind-the-scenes negotiations between Washington and Tehran, Donald Trump maintains a cautious attitude towards the new Iranian proposal to de-escalate tensions, stressing that although there is movement and a willingness to agreement, the content of the response does not meet the expectations of US, which leaves open the possibility of prolonged uncertainty in the talks and increases the diplomatic risk around the final outcome of the process.
Donald Trump appeared skeptical of Iran’s new proposal in the negotiations, stressing that despite progress, he does not believe an agreement is certain.
They have made progress
According to Axios, the US president commented on Tehran’s newest position, noting that the Iranian side is showing willingness to reach an agreement, but without fully meeting Washington’s demands.
“They want to reach an agreement, but I am not satisfied with their response. They have made steps forward, but I am not sure they will ever reach an agreement,” he said.
Iran has submitted a new proposal to the United States to end the war through Pakistan’s mediation, according to Iran’s IRNA news agency.
“The Islamic Republic transmitted the text of its latest proposal to Pakistan on Thursday evening, which is mediating the talks with the United States,” the agency said earlier, which did not give further details.
