This statement was made a year before the critical period for the economy, with him attempting to give political stigma for today as well.
In the quote in question, Georgiades warned about the country’s course, pointing out that Greece was heading out of market, at a time when the public debate was dominated by benefits. “Drop the promises, the way interest rates are going in a year we will be out of the markets,” he had said.
Citing the video, he accompanied the post with the comment: “They about laughed and disparaged me as quaint,” insisting that his estimates were borne out as the memorandum came a year later.
He then moves on to parson, claiming that he notices similar patterns in public debate. “again we started the same as back then”. As he notes, “Mitsotakis gives 500 million euros and they start the same thing they said in 2008, that these are crumbs”.

The minister concludes with a warning about the consequences of potential political instability, stressing: “Alas, if our country falls into political instability. Reversing the good course of our economy will take not years but months.”
He concludes with a clear exhortation in view of the elections, referring to the Prime Minister:
“Remember Mitsotakis and our eyes on the road to the national elections.”
