With Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew met Minister Maritime and Island Policy Vassilis Kikilias, at the Office of the representative of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
In an online post, the Shipping Minister referred to a meeting of “special honour”, underlining the Patriarch’s enduring contribution to Ecumenical Hellenism and Orthodoxy, as well as his firm stand for the values of faith, tradition and unity.
As he pointed out, the interventions and speech of the Oecumenical Patriarch take on special significance in a period of increased international challenges.
Mr. Kikilias also highlighted Greece’s role as a custodian of historical and spiritual values, noting that the country has been defending the principles that constitute our national identity throughout time.
