The United Arab Emirates is in a state of maximum preparedness, as the country’s defence systems face successive attacks from Iran.

The operation to repel hostile actions by the Emirati armed forces is in full swing, after a brief period of lull following the announcement of a ceasefire by the US.

The country’s defence ministry confirmed Tuesday that the defence was facing new attacks with missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles, marking the second consecutive day of hostilities.

For its part, the Foreign Ministry called it a dangerous escalation that undermines regional stability, stressing that the UAE retains the “full and legitimate right” to respond to the provocations forcefully.

Tension in the region was already at its peak on Monday evening, when the first serious incidents were recorded in the oil zone of Fujairah.

A major fire broke out at the site after a hit by a drone, with authorities blaming Tehran directly.

The targeting of critical energy infrastructure is causing international concern as these attacks pose a direct threat to the security of the Emirates.
