The New Democracy maintains a lead of 15 points over PASOK in the Pulse poll, while the opposition remains stagnant with no upward momentum.

The new poll by Pulse records a political landscape with clear but stable balances, where New Democracy maintains the lead with a comfortable lead over PASOK, which remains in second place with no substantial strengthening of its momentum. Despite slight losses for the ruling party compared to previous polls, the 15 percentage point gap remains indicative of the distance that still separates the two parties, while the opposition as a whole is not managing to capitalize on the deterioration of the government. According to the survey, the political scene appears relatively entrenched, with public opinion seeming cautious about existing options and with no apparent tendency to reverse the current correlations.

The intentions of citizens towards the three “under construction” parties are recorded by the large Pulse poll, which was presented by Sia Kosioni on SKAI’s main newscast.

The survey

The survey also reflects citizens’ concern about developments in the Middle East and its consequences on their daily lives.

Citizens also assess the government’s measures to deal with the crisis and respond to the possibility of voting for the parties being formed by Alexis Tsipras, Antonis Samaras and Maria Karystianou. The survey also reflects the percentage of votes expected to affect the parties currently in parliament.

In terms of voting intentions, the Pulse survey shows New Democracy with losses compared to the previous poll by the same company (29.5% compared to 31% garnered in the previous poll), but maintaining a large gap from second-placed PASOK (15 percentage points), which remains at 14.5%.

“No” by majority in… voting intention for the three “under construction” parties

The Pulse survey records voter bias against the under construction parties of Alexis Tsipras, Antonis Samaras and Maria Karystianou. In particular, however, the consequences, in terms of losses, are recorded for the other parties , as the establishment of two or all three -finally- new party formations is expected to shape a completely different field, a few months before the national elections, which, for now, are expected to be held in the spring of 2027.

Tsipras and Karystianou have approval ratings of around 20%, while Samaras’ “party” is at 12%. In any case, losses seem to be suffered by all parties currently in parliament. However, the field is expected to become clearer when the new parties are officially announced and join the voting intention polls along with the existing parties.

How concerned are citizens about the crisis in the Middle East

The dominant issue in the news is clearly the crisis and war in the Middle East. Pulse’s survey captures the percentage of citizens who are worried and in particular about which area. As can be seen from the responses, it is the impact on the economy that has the most impact and is of most concern, while the possibility of military involvement registers a percentage, but it is relatively low.

How the government’s measures to deal with the Middle East crisis are judged

There are divided opinions on whether the measures announced by the government to deal with the crisis are in the right direction, or not.

Also, one in two citizens consider the government’s moves in foreign policy to be the right ones.

Drop for New Democracy, 15% difference from PASOK

New Democracy recorded a 1.5% loss compared to the previous Pulse poll, as it fell from 31% to 29.5% in the vote intention by distribution. However, the difference from PASOK remains more than double, as the opposition party does not seem to be making any gains from New Democracy’s losses.

The other opposition parties present the same picture, with frozen percentages, and seem to be stuck and without any solutions to propose. Solutions, at least, that are accepted by the citizens.
