The Secretary of National Defense, Nikos Dendias, was today, Saturday (9/5) at the headquarters of the 34th Mechanized Brigade in Assyros Thessaloniki, continuing his visits to military units in the country.

During his presence at the unit, he was briefed on the training program implemented for the new batch of conscripts. This is the first group to be trained based on the standards of the “New Thesis”, which is part of the overall planning of the “Agenda 2030” for the Armed Forces.

The minister published a post on the social network X, emphasizing the changes being promoted in the way young soldiers are trained.

“I was informed about the training of the first batch of soldiers according to the New Service standards, in the framework of the 2030 Agenda.”

The visit took place at a time when the Ministry of National Defence is placing particular emphasis on modernizing military training and improving the operational readiness of units.

The aim of the new model is to provide the most modern and practical training of soldiers, focusing on the real needs of the Armed Forces and the requirements of the modern security environment.

The 34th Motorized Brigade is one of the main units of the Greek Army in Northern Greece and maintains a key role in the operational planning of the region.
