Scenes of chaos unfolded at PADA when hooded cowboys attacked students with injuries and the mobilization of heavy police forces.
Severe riot broke out on Tuesday afternoon at the premises of the Western University of Western Attica (PADA), turning the institution into a battlefield.
The tension started when a group of about ten people, carrying helmets and with their faces covered, entered the university through the lower gate. The intruders, armed with sledgehammers and hammers, headed to room K4, where they attacked students.
The attack resulted in the injury of three people, with one of the students sustaining head injuries. After the incident, the injured fled to an adjacent cafe on Demitsana Street, where they were located by authorities.
Emergency ambulances rushed to the scene, which transported the three students to the Thriasio Hospital.
The reaction of the Greek police was immediate, with Facilities of the Rapid Action and the OPKE deployed in the area. During the search, a group of eight people were located outside the university, who were wearing helmets and gloves, resulting in their immediate capture and bringingthem to the Sub-Directorate for Countering Racist and Extremist Violence (YAREV).
It is noted that this attack at the PADA came in the wake of a similar raid by anti-authoritarians against students at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki that had taken place the morning of the same day.
