US President Donald Trump has landed in Pekin for two days of high-level conversations with Chinese leader Chi Jinping.
Trump was received by Han Zeng,the Vice President of China, and other officials at the airport, including the U.S. Ambassador to China, David Perdue, his counterpart, Chinese Ambassador to the US Xi Feng, and China’s Executive Deputy Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu, according to the White House.
The president was also greeted by 300 young Chinese in uniform blue and white uniforms, who marched along the corridor carrying Chinese and American flags, along with a military honor guard and a military band, singing in Mandarin “welcome, welcome, we welcome you warmly”.
Chi Jinping will officially welcome Trump on Thursday morning, local time.
Their talks will focus on trade, Taiwan, artificial intelligence and the US and Israel war against Iran.
