The early reports from around the country indicate that DAP-NDFK is headed for another clear victory this year.
With turnout registering a slight drop compared to previous years, the assessment of DAP-NDFK officials is that the party will maintain its momentum, retaining the top spot and reaffirming for another year its strong presence in the Panepistimia.
This year’s process recorded some problems with the responsibility of the WCC. In particular, there were departments in which the Panchayat set up ballot boxes on its own, violating once again the agreement it has co-signed. The KKE faction proceeded to hold separate elections in departments across Greece and especially in the International University of Greece, refusing to accept the actual result that the other factions agree on.
In addition, and specifically in the ballot box of the Economics Department of the University of Athens, voting was interrupted several times by the responsibility of PKS officials, for no real reason other than to prevent students from exercising their democratic right. In these ways, it plates the aggregate result in its favour, presenting a picture that does not reflect the will of the student community.
