The President of the Parliament of the Hellenes, Nikitas Kaklamanis, received today in his office the ambassador of the Republic of Argentina, Mr Luis Alfredo Azpiazu.
The Speaker of the Parliament welcomed Ambassador Azpiazu to the Greek Parliament, noting that “our countries are linked by strong ties of friendship and share common values and principles based on international law.”
Then he expressed the desire to further strengthen relations between the two Parliaments, which can be achieved through reciprocal visits by the Friendship Groups and the Chairmen of the Parliamentary Committees.
For his part, the Ambassador of the Argentine Republic welcomed the excellent cooperation between the two Parliaments and noted that this year marks 152 years of diplomatic relations based on mutual respect and appreciation. He also stressed that “we are committed to working closely together in the near future for the benefit of our peoples and nations“.
The meeting was also attended by Embassy Secretary Nicolás Héctor José Varzilio and Diplomatic Counselor to the President of the Parliament, Mr. Constantinos Economides.
