The 16th Ordinary Session of the New Democracy continues today.

With the participation of top executives, international personalities and focusing on the specification of the programmatic axes for the “Greece of 2030”, the work of the 16th Ordinary Congress of New Democracy continues today, Saturday.

Following the opening speech by prime minister and party president, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the focus of the second day is on the analysis of the main political priorities. The focus is on economic stability, strengthening social cohesion and accelerating the digital transformation of the country.

Special importance is attached to the special thematic debate on Artificial Intelligence and Innovation, in which the Prime Minister is participating, highlighting the role of new technologies in shaping the development model of the next decade.

The programmatic part of the day is developed through eight parallel thematic sessions, in which ministers, parliamentarians and specialised officials analyse the main policy axes:

  • “Welfare state for all: new perspectives and opportunities”
  • “Strong Greece”
  • “Strong economy – Strong Greece”
  • “2030: Greece strong, New Democracy ahead”
  • “Greece, a destination for all – Major projects and infrastructure”
  • “Modern state for all”
  • “Safe Greece”
  • “With the young people we are building the Greece of the future”

The morning program also includes speeches by the party’s vice presidents, Kostis Hatzidakis and Adonis Georgiades, as well as interventions by international guests, including the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, and the President of the European People’s Party, Manfred Weber.

On the organisational level, according to the Central Electoral Committee (CEC), the submission of nominations for the new Political Committee will take place from 14:00 to 16:00, in view of the vote tomorrow that will conclude the work of the congress.
