Deputy Prime Minister Kostis Hatzidakis, speaking at the New Democracy conference, sent a message of continued reforms and political stability.

In his remarks, Hatzidakis paid special attention to the course of the Greek economy, giving credit to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, while stressing the importance of unity and responsibility within the New Democracy party.

The deputy prime minister argued that Greece has managed to become a positive example for Europe in the field of economy, noting that the government is already preparing the next phase of changes.

At the same time, Hatzidakis stressed that New Democracy will reclaim the trust of the citizens in terms of perspective and not emotional payback.

“In the next elections we will not claim a vote of gratitude but a vote of realistic hope and perspective for Greece,” he said.

During his speech, the Deputy Prime Minister made a historical review of the leaders of the party, citing Konstantinos Karamanlis, Konstantinos Mitsotakis, Kosta Karamanlis, Antonis Samaras, Vangelis Meimarakis and of course the current Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

In particularly high tones, he noted: “New Democracy is you, it is the party that expresses the patriotism not of commerce but the patriotism of responsibility.”

While adding: “Moderation, ethics, seriousness and responsibility dictate this faction that started before us and will continue after us.”

Kostis Hatzidakis also launched an attack on the opposition, arguing that the government will not follow the path of political toxicity.

“We are giving away toxicity to those who have no proposals, we are giving away populism to those who invest only in the departure of this government,” he said.

The message for the Southwest and Greece

He concluded his speech, The deputy prime minister sent a message of unity within the party, noting that the history of the New Democracy has shown that when personal interests prevail, the party pays political costs.

“The Southwest has paid when the ego comes before the we. I believe in the we. Above stubbornness are our values. There is the Southwest and above all Greece, we are here for Greece,” he said.
