“We would not have achieved anything if the party had not fought the battles united,” Takis Theodoricakos said at the Syngress of the New Democracy Party.

“From 2015 to 2019, ND united Greeks in a large social majority against populism, overtaxation and the chaos of insecurity. It was based on the truth deal. From 2019 to 2023 and up to the present day, the party has succeeded in effectively managing major crises with human life, patriotism, and support for the economy as firm values. Fiscal stability, credibility and high growth rates have been established,” Development Minister Takis Theodoricakos said at the 16th conference of the New Democracy Party.

“We would not have achieved anything if the party had not fought the battles united,” he stressed, adding that “we remained firm in the founding declaration of the National Lord Karamanlis.”

The development minister noted that “we have an ideology beyond the labels of patriotism, freedom and solidarity.”

“This is the blue jersey and we all wear it in the Southwest and we are united as one fist,” he added.

Theodoricakos said that boosting productivity is a prerequisite for solidly improving the wages of employees.

The development minister, among other things, spoke about addressing the demographic problem and reducing regional disparities.

“This truth deal to be put into practice has as a condition a third four-year term of the New Democracy, a new major victory in the next elections. It presupposes unity again and again. The battle we will fight will not be easy, it will be the most difficult we have been through in all these last years. No one has the right to be left out. This is for everyone and especially personalities who have historical connection with this great people’s party. The NW was, is and will be their home. Because it cannot be otherwise and because no problem is solved by absence. Nor with political divorces which have never gone well with this party,” he stressed.

Theodoricakos also referred to the change of the development law, noting that everything was done with consistency, speed, transparency and credibility.

“With the backing of the Prime Minister, we are fighting the battle to return to the state coffers hundreds of millions that businesses received over the past 20 years from the development law without making the investments they had undertaken. We have collected back 120 million euros and we will continue because it is a matter of honour to prove that this party manages the Greek people’s money with transparency, accountability and legitimacy,” he stressed.

“We operate with strict measures for the protection of consumers. The same with a bill that will protect consumers from banking abuses. We are making consumer protection policies, we have set the highest fines and 99.5 per cent have been collected,” he added.

“The third four-year term of the South West may be the best. We can be even better because we have better knowledge and experience,” he stressed. “100 days before the 2023 elections there was no one who believed in the self-reliance of the Southwest. It is possible and united we will achieve it,” he added.
