With the start of the preliminary and advanced examinations in high schools, from tomorrow Monday (18/5) the school community enters the final stretch for the completion of this year’s school year.

Students, parents and teachers are now preparing for an exam season, with the focus also turning to the 2026 National Examinations, which begin at the end of the month.

The exams in A’, B’ and C’ Lyceum

According to the Ministry of Education’s planning, the preliminary exams for A’ and B’ Lyceum students will be held from May 18 to June 12, 2026. The announcement of the results must be completed by 19 June 2026.

Meanwhile, students in Class C high school will also begin the high school entrance exams on Monday, which will run until Monday 25 May 2026. The results of these exams are expected to be released by 27 May 2026, a few days before the start of the Panhellenic Exams.

When the 2026 Panhellenic Examinations begin

The countdown has already started for the candidates of the Panladnika Examinations. The exams for the General Lyceum (GEL) will begin on May 29, 2026, with the first subject being New Greek Language and Literature.

One day later, on May 30, 2026, the examinations will begin for candidates of Vocational Lyceums (EPAL), who will be tested in New Greek.

Total straightforwardness for high schools

The school year is entering its final phase for the high schools in the country. Classes are set to end on Friday, May 29, 2026, while preliminary and final exams will be held from 2 to June 15, 2026.

When primary schools and kindergartens close

For students in elementary schools and preschools, classes will continue until mid-June. In particular, the school year will end on Monday 15 June 2026, the date that officially marks the end of the school year for primary education.
