Paul Polakis challenges his exclusion from party organs and asks for the support of Koumundourou party officials.

The intra-party confrontation in Syriza is in full swing, with Pavlos Polakis going on the counter-attack after the recent rejection of him from the Parliamentary Group.

With a new post, the MP for Chania directly challenges the interpretation of the statute that deprives him of the right to participate in the party’s governing bodies, while he made an open call to MPs and executives to take a stand and support.

Mr. Polakis based his argument on the provisions of the bylaws, noting, “Nowhere in the new bylaws does the new statute describe different rights or obligations of elected members of the CC on the one hand with ex oficio MPs on the other.”

Wanting to clear the landscape and put the brakes on the scenarios of his complete marginalization, the critic announced that he will seek institutional vindication within the party. “Obviously, the Ethics Committee must also take a position on the unsubstantiated rumours, I will address it,” he added meaningfully.

The Polakis post details:

I am speaking now and I will speak again if and when what needs to be done is done:

A) I call on all members and friends NOT to leave SYRIZA and its organs. This political space has a history that is not owned by a current situation in its leadership that is behind the needs of the times. It still has much to give to the present when what is needed within it is brought up to date.

B) What is being said about my non participation in the SG and Central Committee is phantom talk without any basis!

Nowhere in the new statute does it describe different rights or obligations of elected members of the CC on the one hand with ex officio deputy members on the other.

I left the parliamentary group on the basis of a decision by Famellos based on the rules of the Parliament, not on party rules for the functioning of the CC.

I was elected to the Political Secretariat by a vote of the Central Committee, on the proposal of Famellos!

I also recall that in the previous Central Committee, I was elected first from Crete with a percentage that exceeded that of any other in ALL of Greece!

C) I expect to see a reaction to this downhill slide of disparagement, inaction and disintegration of SYRIZA-PS, from other MPs, from members of the PC, from members of the Central Committee and the Prefectures who must express themselves publicly against the injustice against me and demand an IMMEDIATE meeting of the Political Secretariat and, of course, of the Central Committee.

D) Obviously the Ethics Committee must also take a stand on the unsubstantiated allegations. I will address it myself.

So, that’s it for everyone who has had their phones broken since yesterday, and I thank them.

I WILL BE BACK AFTER THIS!!!
