A serious incident took place before the start of the Euroleague final between Olympiacos and Real Madrid, at the official Telekom Center Athens, with the owner of the “red” FC, Vangelis Marinakis, and the former general secretary of the prime minister, Gregoris Dimitriadis.
According to eyewitnesses, Marinakis approached Dimitriadis, who was sitting with his wife, and asked him, as sport-fm.gr, wrote, to approach him to talk to him, in an apparently threatening tone. Dimitriadis stood up and took a step towards him and at that moment the president of Olympiacos FC unprovokedly slapped him, causing Dimitriadis’ immediate – and defensive – reaction.
The brief scuffle tore the shirt of Marinakis, who initially wore white and shortly afterwards appeared in black.
The entire incident, however, was recorded by the stadium’s closed-circuit camera system. In order to solve the case, it is considered critical that the video be released, so that the sequence of events and the role of everyone involved can be accurately captured!
All this is happening while Vangelis Marinakis and the management of Olympiacos FC are under trial for the murder of the police officer, Jiorgos Liggeridis. Specifically, the members of the leadership team of Olympiacos FC are accused of supporting-financing a criminal organization and inciting sports violence.
