Questions and angry comments were (also) raised by the exit from the T-Center (after the basketball Olympiacos grand final against Real) of Vangelis Marinakis.

Not only because he repeated the unprovoked attacks against Gregory Dimitriadis, but also because right behind him was Panathinaikos Dmitris Georgantis, the head of security for the CAA.

In fact, according to eyewitnesses, the Panathinaikos B.C. security officer allegedly showed his mobile phone to the (now defunct) owner of Olympiacos FC and said “…Giannakopoulos…”. In fact, according to unconfirmed reports, Marinakis spoke on the phone with Dimitris Giannakopoulos after the incidents.

Now, on the court where the Olympiacos basketball team was competing for its fourth cup, which it added to its rich resume, Red fans saw Marinakis being “escorted” -grown up in a monotone- by Giannakopoulos’ man.

Because we do not see ghosts and do not adopt science fiction scenarios, we will accept that Vangelis Marinakis probably believes that there are no more ideologies: neither in politics nor in sports. So it was only natural for him and the company that surrounded him, on the day when the Olympiacos basketball team was making history by lifting its fourth European Cup, to be “accompanied” – by a high-ranking executive of not just any team, but of Giannakopoulos’ Panathinaikos.

For the record, those who live in (…Marinakian) Jerusalem know about the good relations that the Olympiacos PAE CEO has with Panathinaikos BC strongman Dimitris Giannakopoulos.

In closing, we should mention that D. Giannakopoulos was “overjoyed” that Olympiacos won its fourth European Cup which, among other things, read:

“We have won seven European Cups (ed: 1996, 2000, 2002, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2024), we have never received congratulations from the Greek team in red. You guys got your fourth, I will congratulate you, because, in everything, athletes also play. Congratulations to everyone. The world is very sad. I am too, we just knew it from the beginning this year. And if we had brought Jokic in this year, we wouldn’t have done anything. This year we didn’t earn that. Impossible.”

May: Dimitris Georgantis, for many years, has been the guardian angel in the security of the Giannakopoulos family.
