The decision in which Alexander Yiotopoulos sentenced to 17 life sentences for the terrorist action of 17 November was revoked by the Prosecutor’s Office of the Supreme Court.

The prosecutor of the Supreme Court, Sofoklis Logothetis, who studied the documentary file judged that the perpetrator of the killings of 17 November was wrongly released from prison because he has not served the full 25-year sentence as required by law.

The appeal was also filed because in the opinion of the Supreme Prosecutor, neither the substantive requirements were met, i.e. the content of the sentence has not been altered nor the content of the sentence has been changed due to the release of a very lifelong offender.

Thereafter the president of the Supreme Court as she is allowed by law will immediately appoint a judicial council to judge the prosecutor’s proposal which if accepted Alexandros Yiotopoulos will return to prison.

The Supreme Court’s judicial council is expected to be appointed in the first ten days of June.
