Trump announces ceasefire Israel-Lebanon aimed at broader peace agreement.

In an announcement marking a major diplomatic development, American President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Lebanon have agreed to a ten-day ceasefire, which will take effect at 17:00 (US East Coast time).

According to him, the aim of the agreement is to create the conditions for a better peace agreement between the two countries.

Trump recalled that delegations from the two sides had recently met in Washington, for the first time in 34 years, in the presence of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

At the same time, he said he asked US Vice President Jay Di Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, in conjunction with Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Kaine, to work together with the two sides to achieve permanent peace.

As he said, “it has been an honor to resolve nine wars around the world and this will be the tenth, so let’s do it.”
