The parties of the opposition “produce” more independent parliamentarians than they can “consume”.

Unprecedented in the parliamentary annals of the country, this is revealing of a fundamental anomaly in the way opposition parties operate.

The phenomenon of mass “production” of independent MPs has led to a historical paradox in parliamentary annals since the numerical strength of “independent” MPs is greater than the parties that voters chose to represent them.

This is a “serial” defect of the opposition due to its linear and heterodox approach to politics, where every action is a mere passive reaction to the government’s initiatives.

Instead of producing policy, opposition parties act as the next “link” in a chain of events that is completely controlled by the media system, which determines their attitude towards the government.

The dramatization of an event and its transformation into a “scandal” is done through a coordinated process of selection, magnification and political exploitation.

It is true that this has happened in other periods, but what is remarkable about this one is that the leaderships of opposition parties appear below the circumstances, the expectations of their voters as well as their cadres, because instead of leading… they are being led.
