As explained, the renovation is not limited to energy upgrade interventions, but can include work such as replacing frames, renovating kitchen or replacing floors.

The goal of the program is to utilize old and closed properties so that after renovation they can be made available for long-term leasing, helping to address the housing problem and at the same time increasing the income of the owners.

The total budget for the new scheme is estimated to be 500 million. EUR 500 million, with significantly increased expenditure coverage compared to previous cycles.

The subsidy will be able to cover up to 90%-95% of the cost of the works, while the income criteria are expected to be broadened in order to include more beneficiaries.

At the same time, the amount of financing will increase according to the number of children in the family. In particular, an increase of 5,000 euros for each child is foreseen, meaning that a family with two children can receive up to 46,000 euros.

The scheme will apply to old houses built up to 1990 and having an area of up to 120 sq.m., while the maximum amount of aid will be calculated on the basis of a ceiling of 300 euros per square meter.
