The Giannis Smyrlis highlighted the government’s reform workof KyriakosMitsotakis and set a target of a third self-reliant government in 2027.
In a climate of political rallying and strategic planning for the next election, the Director General of New Democracy Yannis Smyrlis, speaking at the meeting of the party’s Political Committee, showed the continuity of the government’s work and the organisational readiness of the party in view of the national elections of 2027. Mr. Smyrlis referred to the implementation of the reforms of the Mitsotakis government in key sectors of the economy and the state, noting that political stability and credibility are foundations of the government’s strategy, while he set as a central goal the claiming of a third consecutive independent government term for New Democracy.

Mr President of the New Democracy,
Dear Secretary of the Political Committee, my friend Stelios Kontadakis,
Messrs and Gentlemen Ministers,
Messrs and Gentlemen Members of Parliament,
Friends and friends members of the Political Committee,
After a constructive pre-conference dialogue, throughout Greece, and the holding of our 16th Ordinary Congress, which was also the official starting point of the campaign preparations for the upcoming elections, we are here today to convene the newly elected and renewed Political Committee to elect the new Secretary.
And as you all already know, the nominee of the President of the Southwest is MP Konstantinos Kyranakis.
Friend Konstantinos needs no introduction.
Over the years, he is a fighter of our historic and great Party, he comes from the bowels of New Democracy and he has always been at the forefront of the difficulties and successes of the Southwest.
And for me personally, it is truly a great pleasure to work with Constantine again, as we were both Presidents of the youth of the European People’s Party (EPP), and we have fought, and with many of your colleagues, great, difficult and successful battles.
And the important thing, friends, is that we continue, all of us together in every corner of the territory, with the same drive, fighting spirit and determination to serve the great Party of Greece.
The Party that has been making the right strategic choices for the Homeland for 52 years, and cares for the good of all Greek women and men without exception.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
The election of the new Secretary opens another page of the chapter on the road to the national elections in 2027.
We all know that in both the first and second terms of government under Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, our Government has implemented a great reforming governmental work in every field of policy.
In the economy, in the welfare state and the support of our most vulnerable citizens, in the upgrading of opportunities for young people, in the digital state, in the energy upgrade of the country, in the strong defence and multidimensional foreign policy. And of course, this continues at a steady pace.
And every day we strive and put into practice what the Greek people have entrusted us with.
Credibility is the characteristic that differentiates us, which is why our citizens are always by our side.
This is why our Party is resilient and evolves through the years, always guided by the principles and values of our Founding Declaration.
With a lot of work, with seriousness, with respect for the relationship of trust that our Party has cultivated with the Greek people,
we will give our struggle again for a third consecutive self-reliant Government, with our President Kyriakos Mitsotakis as Prime Minister for the third time!
For a Greece with political, economic and social stability where all can progress and feel safe!
To create together the Greece of 2030!
