The time has come for the grand final between Olympiacos and Panathinaikos, with the two teams facing off tonight at a packed SEF for the Stoiximan GBL title.
The series is tied at 2-2, and the winner of Game 5 will be crowned Greek champion for the 2025-26 season.
A few hours before tip-off, Olympiacos BC issued a detailed announcement to the fans who will be at the arena. The “Red-and-Whites” called on the fans to support the team with passion, but without tensions or behavior that could create problems for the club.
As the announcement states: “The biggest battle will be fought today!”
The announcement emphasizes that the game is sold out and that the atmosphere at SEF is expected to be particularly intense, however, the team is asking fans to avoid any extreme behavior.
“We call on all fans attending the game to show absolute respect for the rules and to passionately stand by Giorgos Bartzokas and his players in their quest the championship trophy.”
Particular emphasis was placed on abusive chants and provocations, with the club making it clear:
“Our weapon is our voice, and only that.”
“We do not respond to provocations.”
“We say NO to abusive chants and chants directed at individuals.”
At the same time, management reminded everyone that any misconduct may result in sanctions against the team.
How the gates will open
The announcement also includes detailed instructions for entering the stadium. The gates will open at 3:30 PM, that is, two and a half hours before the start of the game, while entry will be permitted only to holders of named tickets and accredited individuals.
The club also announced that high-definition cameras are in operation at the venue under the supervision of the Greek Police and warned that any violation will be recorded.
At the same time, it is made clear that smoke bombs, firecrackers, lasers, and the throwing of objects are strictly prohibited, as is entry with helmets, bottles, or other liquids.
“We say NO to any form of unsportsmanlike behavior that could put our team at risk of punishment.”
The announcement concludes with an appeal to fans to follow the instructions of the police and match officials, so that the match can proceed without incident both inside and outside the stadium.
