The agreement is in a state of uncertainty US-Iran agreement, with Donald Trump awaiting Tehran’s decision, although Israel’s attacks on Lebanon are undermining the already tense atmosphere.

The government of Iran, as well as the Revolutionary Guards, are warning not only of new strikes against Israel in support of Lebanon, but also of rejection of any agreement between Tehran and Washington, as was characteristically stated earlier today by the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bayar Ghalibaf, who has been appointed head of the negotiating team.

Tense situation in Lebanon

At the same time, the climate of war persists between Israel and Lebanon. Earlier today, the Israeli army attacked Hezbollah targets in the southern suburbs of Beirut, in the organization’s stronghold known as Dahiya, according to a joint statement by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz. This is Israel’s response to Hezbollah against Israeli areas, according to the same statement.

According to the Lebanese National News Agency, “the initial toll is three dead and 15 wounded, while significant damage has been caused to neighboring buildings and shops.” The Israeli strike targeted an apartment building which, according to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), served as a command center for Hezbollah.

Israel in consultation with the U.S. regarding the attacks on Lebanon

According to the journalist from the “Axios” news network, Barack Ravid, “the Israeli armed forces informed the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) shortly before carrying out the strike against Beirut.”

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu after wishing U.S. President Donald Trump on his 80th birthday, he was quick to weigh in on the ongoing hostilities in the Middle East, reaffirming the two countries’ steadfast alliance.

In his message on Platform X, Benjamin Netanyahu wrote: “Happy birthday, Mr. @POTUS. Happy birthday, Donald. This year, your birthday coincides with an auspicious moment. America is celebrating 250 years of freedom—a great nation built on freedom and faith. I wish you continued strength and fortitude as you lead America toward a bright future of peace through strength, and as we continue to take the U.S.-Israel alliance to ever-higher levels.”

Stern warning from Iran

The Zionist invasion of Dahiya (ed. Lebanon) has proven once again that the U.S. either lacks the will to honor its commitments or lacks the ability to do so,” said the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bayar Galibaf, in a message. “By giving the regime the green light, you cannot secure concessions,” he said, addressing the Trump administration. “The ‘good cop, bad cop’ game is outdated,” Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf pointed out. “If you lack the will and the ability to honor your commitments, it is impossible to talk about moving forward,” he said in the same tone.

The crimes committed by the Israelis in the southern suburbs of Lebanon’s capital will not go unanswered,” Mohammad Jafar Asadi, deputy chief of Iran’s Supreme Joint Military Command, told Iranian state media. His statement came in the wake of Israeli attacks on the southern suburbs of Beirut, which targeted Hezbollah.
