The position that the so-called “technical solution” to OPEKEPE is absolutely legal and does not involve an economic dimension, said the former vice-president of the agency, Dimitra Halikia, speaking on Skai radio.
As she said, the procedure followed for the allocation of vegetable land is explicitly provided for by the current institutional framework, stressing that the relevant decisions and approvals by the relevant ministers are “perfectly legal”.
She referred by name to ministers Apostolou, Arachovitis, Voridis, Livanos and Georgantas, noting that the “agree” they have signed are fully in line with the provisions of the KYA, which he said stipulates that ministers must approve the relevant lists.
He particularly emphasised that this process is not related to financial flows, stressing that “there is not even half a euro“, as he explained that ministers “do not sign money or anything”.
Concluding, Halikia described the allegations as “baseless” and “completely unfounded“, dismissing any suggestion of irregularity in the practice.
