Possibly locally heavy rain in Crete from mid-morning until the afternoon and in the Dodecanese during the afternoon and evening hours are forecast for today, Friday.

Specifically, according to the EMY, in Crete, the Cyclades, the islands of the East Aegean and the Dodecanese, clouds with local rain and sporadic thunderstorms are forecast, possibly locally strong in Crete and the Dodecanese.

In the rest of the regions, a few clouds are expected in the morning hours in the Peloponnese, eastern Sterea and possibly in Euboea and in the noon and afternoon hours in the northwestern mainland, where isolated thunderstorms will occur in the mountains.

Meteorological conditions favour the concentration of African dust in the southeastern part of the country.

Winds will blow north northeast at 4 to 6 Beaufort, locally 7 to 8 Beaufort in the Aegean.

The temperature will slightly drop in the eastern mainland and the Aegean. It will reach 22 to 24 degrees Celsius in the Ionian and the mainland and locally in the western mainland 25 degrees Celsius, in the Aegean and Crete 18 to 22 and locally in the Dodecanese 23 degrees Celsius.

MACEDONIA, THRAKE

Weather. In Macedonia, a few clouds, partly cloudy, mainly in the midday and afternoon hours, when in western and central Macedonia there will be occasional local showers or rain and in the mountains isolated thunderstorms.

Winds: North northeastern 3 to 4 and in the east locally 5 to 6 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 09 to 22 degrees Celsius.

JUNE ISLAND, HEPIRE, WEST STEREA, WEST PELOPONESOS

Weather. In the rest of the regions a few clouds, partly cloudy, with local rain or rain in the midday and afternoon hours in Epirus and in the mountains of Epirus isolated thunderstorms.

Winds: North northeastern 4 to 6 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 10 to 25 degrees Celsius.

THESSALY, ANATOLIKI STEREA, EVBIA, ANATOLIKI PELOPONISOS

Weather. In other areas cloudy, with local rain in the morning hours in eastern Peloponnese and eastern Sterea and possibly in Evia.

Winds: North northeast 4 to 5 Beaufort, and in the east and south locally 6 to 7 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 10 to 22 degrees Celsius.

CYCLADES, CRETE

Weather: cloudy with local showers and occasional thunderstorms, possibly heavy in places in Crete (mainly eastern Crete) from midday until the afternoon.

Winds: North 6 to 7 and locally 8 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 13 to 20 degrees Celsius.

EAST AEGEAN ISLANDS – DODECANESE

Weather: North northeast 6 to 7 and locally 8 Beaufort.

Temperature: 14 to 23 degrees Celsius. In the north 2 to 3 degrees lower.

EAST ATTICA

Weather: North northeast 4 to 6 Beaufort, locally 7 Beaufort in the east.

Temperature: From 13 to 20 degrees Celsius.

THESSALONIKI

Weather: Variable 3 to 4 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 12 to 22 degrees Celsius.

In the eastern and southern islands cloudy with local rain until noon and in the Dodecanese in the early morning hours isolated thunderstorms. Gradually, generally clear weather.

In the rest of the country, initially generally clear weather, but gradually in the north and in the midday – afternoon hours in the rest of the continent clouds will develop and there will be local showers and possibly in the mountains isolated thunderstorms.

Visibility in the evening hours in the northeastern mainland will be locally limited.

Winds will blow from the north, in the west 3 to 5, in the east 4 to 6 and in the Aegean Sea locally 7 Beaufort.

The temperature will drop slightly in the north and east.

The temperature will reach 19 to 20 and locally 21 degrees Celsius in the north and the islands of the eastern Aegean, 22 to 23 and locally 24 degrees in the Ionian Sea and the rest of the mainland, and 18 to 20 degrees Celsius in the Cyclades and Crete.

Winds will blow in the west from southerly directions 3 to 4 and in the southern Ionian Sea locally up to 5 Beaufort. In the east, winds will blow from the north at 3 to 5 Beaufort, in the Aegean at 6 and locally in the southeast at 7 Beaufort.
