The situation regarding the fire at the “Almyropotamos” site in Karystos Euboea.
Significant firefighting forces are operating at the scene, specifically 120 firefighterswith 5 foot patrol teams from the 4th, 10th, and 20th EMODE, volunteers, and 35 vehicles, while 9 aircraft and 7 helicopters are periodically deployed from the air, one of which is used for coordination. Water tankers and construction equipment from the Region of Central Greece are providing assistance.

According to a statement from the Fire Department, strong winds are blowing in the area, hampering firefighting efforts. Aerial resources are facing particular difficulties, either due to turbulence or obstacles to water drops, as there are high-voltage power lines and wind turbines in the area.
Nevertheless, firefighting forces have managed to bring the fire under better control and are continuing their efforts until it is fully contained.
According to a statement from the Fire Department, aircraft will remain in operation until dusk in order to assist, as much as possible, the ground crews that will remain in the fire area throughout the night.
It should be noted that two (2) alerts were issued by 112, the first at 17:05 regarding a state of readiness in the areas of Mesochoria and Raptioi, and the second at 17:58 regarding evacuation from the areas of Mesochoria and Raptioi toward Styra.
