Based on the finding that Eirini Mourtzoukou took pleasure in murdering the babies, the prosecutor concluded and recommended that she stand trial before the Mixed Jury Court.

Specifically, the prosecutor’s recommendation regarding the first indictment against Eirini Mourtzoukou—for the murders of three babies and one attempted murder—describes how this woman operated, against defenseless creatures, including her own two children, with the prosecutor noting in particular that “she enjoyed her victims without remorse.”

As reported by patrisnews, the prosecutor is recommending that Eirini Mourtzoukou stand trial before a mixed jury court, while emphasizing that the woman was fully lucid and of sound mind during the horrific acts she is accused of committing.

“She has no real emotional connection to anyone or anything and seeks a sense of dominance, control, and ultimately omnipotence while committing her crimes which is why she chooses vulnerable victims, that is, on the one hand, defenseless infants incapable of resisting, without any distinction—not even when it comes to the two children she gave birth to herself, with whom there were never any normal emotional exchangesand, on the other hand, her young partner.”

“Every time, I lost my senses,” said the 25-year-old defendant in her confession; she is being held in pretrial detention at the Korydallos Women’s Prison for the murders of her two babies and her godmother’s baby.

She took pleasure in her victims without remorse

Her actions demonstrate in the clearest possible way that she enjoyed her victims, who were at her mercy, without any remorse,” according to the prosecutor.

According to the prosecutor’s indictment, Eirini Mourtzoukou allegedly killed her sister first.

She unleashed her destructive tendencies, revealing her emotional detachment and the dark side of her character,” the prosecutor stated.

According to witness testimony, there were other attempts by Eirini Mourtzoukou to harm young children—at least two cases in addition to those for which she is already charged.

The defendant’s criminal behavior to date indicates a need for control and power, as she targets young children who are vulnerable and unable to resist, demonstrating a lack of empathy, emotional detachment, and a need for dominance, thereby seeking a distorted empowerment of her ‘ego,’” as is characteristically noted.

On Christmas 2020, Irini Mourtzoukou is accused of attempting to drown her then-partner in Patras. According to the prosecutor’s indictment, the defendant chose her victim while she was in a defenseless state as she was sleeping.

According to the indictment, the 25-year-old is alleged to have killed her goddaughter’s young daughter in February 2021. Next came her own two children, whom, as emphasized, she murdered while again fully in her right mind.

“‘She has the ability to create the appropriate circumstances for her victims’ deaths, staging death scenes and seeking to present herself as the victims’ “savior” rather than their executioner,’ said the prosecutor.
