The fire that broke out in a grassland area in the Ambelas region of Syros.
Given the strong winds currently blowing, with gusts reaching 7 Beaufort, firefighters remain on the scene, as an entire hillside has been burned .
The Syros Arson Crimes Investigation Unit is on-site at the fire area to investigate its causes.
Ten firefighters with 3 vehicles, as well as 2 aircraft and 3 helicopters from the air. Volunteers and local government water tankers are providing assistance.
It should be noted that earlier, a message was sent via 112 to residents of the Tria Lagonia area of Syros, urging them to evacuate the area as a precaution and head toward Ermoupoli.
