A 60-year-old man was found unconscious in Chania and more specifically in the Agia Irini Gorge, in the municipality of Kantanos-Selino.
According to patris, the man collapsed under circumstances that remain unclear at this time, resulting in his death.
Operation to transport the body from a remote location
A major operation is currently underway to transport the body from the remote location. Specifically, the body was located near the exit of the gorge, where an EKAB ambulance is waiting.
Firefighters from the Chania Fire Department are participating in the operation, as well as a team from EMODE, who are working under difficult conditions to recover and transport the unfortunate man.
The exact cause of death is expected to be determined after the transport process is completed and the relevant authorities conduct the required examinations.
