Chilling details are coming to light regarding the murder of 45-year-old Stavroula Leventaki in Chania.
The woman was found this morning buried on farmland owned by the 43-year-old in the Vatolakko area, during an investigation by police authorities.
According to information from ERT Chania, the 45-year-old woman was found with white electrical tape over her mouth and her hands and feet bound with ties, a fact that demonstrates the brutality of the crime. A forensic examination is expected to take place tomorrow, which is expected to provide answers regarding the exact circumstances of her death. Following the completion of the autopsy, an arrest warrant to be issued against the 43-year-old, who is reportedly facing a charge of homicide, so that he may be brought to justice.
The 43-year-old “broke down” during the night, abandoning the defiant stance he had maintained since his arrest. He described in detail what happened on the day of the murder and led authorities to the spot where he had buried the body, which was recovered shortly thereafter by police officers.
