Deep sorrow has been caused in Athens 9.84 the loss of journalist Pandora Pafili, one of the most iconic figures in the history of Athens municipal radio.

In a joint statement, the representatives of the employeesn at the station bid farewell to their colleague, speaking of a journalist who linked her name to the history of Athens 9.84 and served the station with consistency, dedication, and professionalism for decades.

As they point out, Pandora Pafili was an integral part of the station’s large family from its early years of operation through to the final period of her tenure. With her integrity, tenacity, and love for journalism, she left her mark on both her colleagues and listeners.

“She will remain in our memory as a fighter in everyday life, a person who conscientiously served her profession and always stood by everyone with dignity and camaraderie,” they note.

The employee representatives also emphasize that her loss leaves an irreplaceable void in the family of Athens 9.84, noting, however, that her career, her contributions, and her example will continue to serve as a benchmark for all those working in the media.

The statement is signed by Kostas Korelis, employee representative on the Board of Directors of DERAA – Athens 9.84, Marilena Anastasopoulou, deputy employee representative on the Board of Directors of DERAA – Athens 9.84, and Giorgos Manousakakis, employee representative on the Joint Council of the ESIEA in Athens 9.84.

At the same time, they express their sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased, bidding her farewell with the words: “May she rest in peace. May her memory live on forever.”

It is with deep sorrow and emotion that we bid farewell today to our colleague Pandora Pafili, a journalist who made her name synonymous with the history of Athens 9.84 and served the city’s municipal radio station with consistency, dedication, and professionalism for decades.

From the station’s earliest years until the very end of her tenure, Pandora was an integral part of the Athens 9.84 family. With her integrity, tenacity, and love for journalism, she left her own unique mark on her colleagues, listeners, and the station’s history.

For all of us who had the honor of knowing her and working with her, she will remain in our memory as a champion of everyday life, a person who conscientiously served her calling and always stood by everyone with dignity and camaraderie.

Her loss leaves an irreplaceable void in the Athens 9.84 family. However, her legacy, her contributions, and the example she set will continue to guide us and remind us of the values that journalism and human presence in the workplace must uphold.

We extend our warmest and most sincere condolences to her family, her loved ones, and all those who knew and loved her.
