The member of parliament of New Democracy, Makarios Lazaridis, launched a fierce attack against the opposition from the floor of the Parliament, arguing that the events of the past few days did not constitute the exercise of parliamentary oversight, nor a search for truth nor a defense of legitimacy.

As he stated, this was an organized attempt at political exploitation of an administrative error, with the sole aim, as he said, to create impressions and bring about his political destruction.

Makarios Lazaridis called on those who, as he claimed, spread defamatory allegations against him to take responsibility for what they said, wondering whether they would apologize and retract the accusations they had hurled. At the same time, he accused his political opponents of continuing to rely on lies, because, as he said, the truth does not serve their political agenda.
