Charis Doukas had the opportunity to travel to London to participate in an event on climate change.
Haris Doukas, when he isn’t criticizing the government or supporting Alexis Tsipras nor is he stirring up trouble within his party, PASOK, he goes on trips. Always on behalf of the City of Athens.
So the mayor of Athens traveled all the way to London, which has been experiencing a heat wave in recent days, to participate in a conference on climate change. As you can imagine, now that he’s lowered the average temperature in Athens by 5 degrees, as he promised, he’s found something else to do.
So he tells us that he discussed pressing issues, such as the proper specifications for data centers, pollution-free neighborhoods, the fossil fuel crisis, and the need for a new production model. Of course, he didn’t tell us about this, but it’s important that he’s listening to the relevant discussions.
He himself begins the video by saying that “London is cooking,” apparently influenced by that distinctive British sense of humor. In fact, he says he’s exploring best practices to implement them in Athens as well.
Of course, perhaps he should first look into best practices for making the city cleaner, with better infrastructure, and more people-friendly. But apparently, the UN Climate Crisis Week is more interesting than the… mundane problems of his city.
