Fire in an agricultural and forested area in Agios Isidoros, Koroni broke out today, June 28, 2026, shortly after 2:00 p.m.
The fire has broken out mainly within agricultural land, and the area is experiencing strong winds with gusts of 5 Beaufort. So far, the fire does not pose a threat to homes or infrastructure, according to the fire department.
To extinguish the fire, ground and aerial forces of the Fire Department were immediately mobilized, specifically, 40 firefighters with 2 foot patrol teams from the 9th EMODE and 10 vehicles, while for aerial firefighting, 4 aircraft and 1 helicopter were mobilized with assistance from local government water tankers.
Throughout the incident, ESKEDIK receives continuous footage from the drone via optical and thermal cameras.
The Investigative Task Force for Arson Crimes in Messinia, has arrived at the scene of the fire to investigate its causes.
