Changes to the operation of Line 2 of the Athens Metro are being brought about by ongoing infrastructure works, with five central stations closing early, until the end of April.
Passengers are advised to plan their journeys well in advance, as service modifications and service alternatives will be in effect.
Specifically, and according to ERT,Attiki, Larissa, Metaxourgio, Omonia and University Station will be closed at 21:40 until Thursday and from Sunday until April 30 due to rail replacement works and installation of a new 5G internet network, as part of the upgrade of Metro Line 2.
During the works, trains will only run in sections: Anthoupoli – Sepolia and Syntagma – Elliniko.To serve the passengers in the section Sepolia – Syntagma, a temporary bus line (X18) will operate, while the last trains before the closure of the stations have been announced by STASY. Passengers are advised to be informed about the timetables in time and to choose alternative routes in order to avoid delays.
