A concern about whether the case of wiretapping directly affects the daily lives of citizens was expressed by journalist Akis Pavlopoulos, raising the question to what extent it is linked to issues such as energy, wages and the cost of living.

In the same context, journalist Aris Portosalte argued that the highlighting of issues related to the rule of law is – in his view – because of a lack of an alternative political proposal from the opposition.

As he said, “because there is no visionary political position”, an attempt is being made to shift the debate to “stories of the rule of law“, which – as he said – include events such as the tragedy of Tempe.

He added that the opposition has not presented a comprehensive proposal for governance to counter the government’s Kyriakos Mitsotakis, with the result – in his estimation – that he is looking for other fields of political confrontation.
