Open possibility of contact, despite denials from Tehran.

The possibility of direct dialogue between the US and Iran is shaping up in the coming days.

According to a Pakistani official speaking to ABC News, the two sides may move to direct talks on Sunday if their separate contacts with Pakistani mediators go positively.

The Iranian delegation, led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghji, is already in Islamabad, while the US delegation, led by special envoy Steve Whitcoff and Jared Kushner, is expected to arrive on Saturday.

However, Iranian media insist that Araghji’s visit is exclusively for contacts with Pakistani officials on ending the war with Washington, denying for now the possibility of a direct meeting with US representatives.
