The Greek Prime Minister and the French President proceed to the signing of the Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This agreement reflects the broadening and deepening of cooperation between the two countries, which is not limited to the defence sector but extends to the economy, civil protection, migration, technology, environment, education and culture.

The agreement includes the well-known mutual defence assistance clause, which is triggered in the event of a threat to the sovereignty of either state.

The signature has been undertaken on the Greek side by ministers Giorgos Gerapetritis and Nikos Dendias. On the French side, Benjamin Haddad, responsible for European affairs, and the Armed Forces Minister.
