The days when Kostas Vaxevanis supported Alexis Tsipras and indeed fervently supported Alexis Tsipras are long gone.

In recent months, Kostas Vaxevanis has launched a war against Alexis Tsipras with heavy accusations about the reasons for his party, his political direction and the support he receives from certain oligarchs and big businessmen. And on the occasion of the former prime minister’s intervention at the Delphi forum, the well-known publisher is harshly criticizing him.

The journalist wonders in a post why Alexis Tsipras is delaying the creation of this party so much, since he says it is a historical necessity. And he responds by saying that he is doing so because he has indulged in “bargaining and bullying” with various executives and in behind-the-scenes tactics with his current and former comrades.

And ultimately, he claims, he has turned the alleged party into a process of personal convenience. Finally, he accuses him of having a messianic view of himself, as he believes that he will come as a middle man to redeem the left from the quagmire. Which it has gotten itself into mainly because of the former PM, but that doesn’t matter much.

Of course, Costa Vaxevanis is not saying all this by accident. For one thing, the two men have parted ways, as the former prime minister has found other supporters in the press and media, and it generally sounds like they no longer get along on a personal level either, as the recriminations behind closed doors are too heavy.

On the other hand, Kostas Vaxevanis, who knows as little about Koumoundourou’s affairs as anyone, is told that Alexis Tsipras will disband Syriza as he has “dealt” with ten MPs to follow him. However, not only will he leave many of his former comrades out, but the delay is due to the fact that many of these MPs do not want to resign and give up their seats.

Finally, it is rumoured that the editor would happily support a Syriza under Pavlos Polakis, so he is preparing for the next day. Anyway, all this shuffling shows the intense background and the new conflicts coming up on the left.
