The 20-year-old man who confessed to killing the 27-year-old son of the SAF officer is expected to plead guilty on Tuesday 28/4
According to ANT1, he is expected to claim that he had the knife for defensive reasons. Also, today, Monday 27/4, the other three arrested men – the perpetrator’s friend and the two young girls – are being tried in the court of first instance for their involvement in the case.
The 20-year-old has presented the killing of the 27-year-old in Agios Dimitrios as an act of the moment without intent and, according to the ANT1 newscast, claimed to police that his friend was unaware of the appointment.
What the confessed perpetrator claimed
“I want to apologize once again. My reaction was instantaneous, I was blinded by some of the things I heard and I bitterly regret my reaction. My child and I were together, she had nothing to do with this and she didn’t even know that I was going to meet the 27-year-old, nor did she know that I had the knife with me,” the confessed offender claimed.
While his defense attorney said the 20-year-old had the knife on him because he was afraid.
The defendants’ lawyers also said they were initially unaware for at least an hour and a half that the stabbing was fatal.
The investigation is expected to add video, cellphone and DNA results to the investigation.
