Technical discussions are underway with the European Union on utilization of resources from the Recovery and Resilience Fund.

According to sources at the Ministry of Ministry of Environment and Energy, the aim is, in the context of the forthcoming review of the Fund, to include the participation of the State in the capital increase of the ADMIE.

The proposal concerns the use of additional resources, beyond the existing programme, to the Public Sector to participate in the capital increase of €1 billion.

This move is directly linked to the implementation of ADMIE’s Ten-Year Development Plan 2025-2034, which has already been approved by RAEAY.

The successful outcome of this proposal, they add, will constitute a clear vote of confidence by the European Commission in the Government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the Ministry of Environment and Energy for the management of TEA.

At the same time, the European Commission acknowledges and rewards in this way the increased importance that the Government attaches to energy infrastructure and the strengthening of domestic and international interconnections.

It is noted that some of these have been included in the Energy Corridors programme recently announced by Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
