The launch of payment of payment of compensation by the Ministry of Rural Development and Food, which took place today.
The move is aimed at providing immediate relief to farmers who have seen their flocks decimated by sheep and goat pox and foot-and-mouth disease, as the implementation of health protocols has forced the death of animals to contain the epidemics.
Specifically, today a total of 22,757,594.65 euros was paid to 849 beneficiaries for compensation, as follows:
Eastern Macedonia & Thrace: 3.961,430.00 €
Northern Aegean: 726,038.00 €
Epirus: 468,152.90 €
Thessaly: 8,061,654.60 €
Ionian Islands: 18.100.00 €
Central Macedonia: 9,291,862.75 €
Peloponnese: 14,590.40 €
Central Greece: 215,766.00 €
Sinola: 22,757.594,65 €
The above amounts were paid directly by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to the farmers, according to the data submitted by the Regions.
It is noted that the payment of compensation for Western Greece will be made at the beginning of May. It is also recalled that on April 4,4 million euros were paid to the Regions to cover operating costs.
Finally, it is noted that the money will appear in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries within two working days.
