Limnos now has a direct shipping link with Turkey, as it joined the line connecting it to the port of Chanakale.

The journey will take around 2.5 hours, making it easier for visitors to move between the two sides of the Aegean.

The news was made known through a post by the prefect of Lemnos, Apostolos Koutsogiannis, on social media, where the activation of the new line was confirmed.

“Lemnos has been added to the booking engine! As of yesterday, Lemnos is now available in the company’s booking engine, marking the start of the new, ferry connection with Turkey!”

The new connection creates potential for strengthening the local economy, while expanding access options to the island.
