Meeting in Abu Dhabi with Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to strengthen strategic cooperation between Greece and the UAE on AI, investment and regional stability.

At a time of intense geopolitical upheaval and increasing importance of technological alliances globally, the visit of the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to Abu Dhabi and his meeting with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, mark the further deepening of an already strong bilateral relationship. The talks focused on strengthening the strategic cooperation between Greece and the UAE, investment prospects, as well as the new digital era that is taking shape through artificial intelligence, with the signing of a relevant memorandum to give specific and practical content to the partnership between the two countries.

Diplomatic solution for sustainable peace

During the meeting, regional developments were discussed, while the two leaders reviewed the excellent bilateral relations.

The Prime Minister expressed his condemnation of Iran’s attacks on the United Arab Emirates and reiterated Greece’s solidarity and its position on the need to find a diplomatic solution that will lead to sustainable peace and stability and security in the region.

The President of the United Arab Emirates thanked the Prime Minister for Greece’s support.

The strategic relationship between the two countries

The common interest in freedom of navigation, as enshrined in the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, as a prerequisite for international peace, supply chains and economic prosperity was also discussed.

The two leaders also reaffirmed the depth of the strategic partnership and cooperation between the two countries in a number of sectors, with the economy and investment at the forefront.

A Memorandum of Cooperation between Greece and the United Arab Emirates in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Technology was signed during the Prime Minister’s visit.
