The Gregory Dimitriadis was born in Dervitsani of Northern Epirus and visited the bust of his grandfather, Konstantinos Mitsotakis, accompanied by the Prime Minister of Albania, Edti Rama.

Dimitriades visited the bust of his grandfather, Konstantinos Mitsotakis, with the Prime Minister of Albania at his side, Endy Rama, the man, after all, who had the initiative and personal curatorship for the creation of the memorial.

The visit was made known by Grigoris Dimitriadis himself in a post:
A monument with special weight
The bust of Konstantinos Mitsotakis, unveiled in October 2023in the square of Dervitsani, is not just an honorary reference. It is linked to the former prime minister’s historic presence in the region, as he was the first Greek leader to visit this minority zone in 1991.

The choice of location in an area with a strong Greek element reinforces the symbolism, while the involvement of Edti Rama adds a diplomatic dimension.
From personal charge to public debate
Although the visit was private, its publicity triggered reactions and different readings. For some, it is an implicit gesture of personal memory and family respect. For others, the presence of Mr Demetriades and the historical baggage of the site make the image inevitably political.
What emerges, however, is a trend often seen in public discourse: the hurry to attribute political motives even in moments that bear a primarily personal character. This visit was not an official act of politics, but a private gesture of remembrance and honour.
The attempt, then, to turn it into a field of political debate obscures rather than illuminates the debate by distracting attention from the obvious: that some moments, however played out in front of cameras, remain deeply human and personal.
