Maria Karystianou is expected to file the necessary documents on Monday with Supreme Court, marking her official entry into the political scene.

Maria Karystianou is moving full steam ahead in establishing her own political party. According to reports, this coming Monday 18 May she will visit the Supreme Court to submit the founding documents, while the official announcement of the organisation will take place three days (21 May) later in Thessaloniki.

She stresses that the party’s staffing will be based on her close associates, who have no previous involvement in active politics or public life.

At the same time, new party member journalist (with pro-Russian sentiments) Thanasis Avgerinos announced his participation in the party, via a social media post.

Avgerinos described the moment as a “historic juncture” and said that Maria Karystianou’s initiative expresses the anguish of a large section of society that is looking for hope to change the current political establishment.
