A fire broke out a short while ago in a grassland area in the Ambelas of Syros, prompting an immediate mobilization of the fire department.
Due to the fire’s spread, the 112 was activated, with residents and visitors in the Tria Lagonia area receiving a warning message to evacuate as a precautionary measure toward Ermoupoli.
The message states: “Evacuate toward Ermoupoli and follow the authorities’ instructions”.

Syros: Major mobilization on the ground and from the air
To combat the fire, 10 firefighters have been deployed with three fire trucks have been deployed to combat the fire, while two aircraft and two helicopters are conducting water drops from the air.
Volunteers and local government water trucks are also participating in the operation, reinforcing efforts to contain the flames.
