The allowance of 350 euros per candidate for the 2026 Panelladic Examinations only applies to those who sit the examination at a different school from the one where they submitted their application.
According to an announcement by the Ministry of Education, the procedure for covering travel, accommodation and subsistence expenses for candidates who take the examination away from their place of residence is being activated for 2026. The compensation amounts to a lump sum of 350 euros for each eligible candidate of the Panhellenic Examinations.
Who are the beneficiaries of the compensation
Based on the current institutional framework and the relevant circular (No. Prot./52390/A5), the beneficiaries are candidates GEL and EPAL who graduate in the same year and are examined in a different school unit from the one where they submitted their application.
The basic conditions are as follows:
– Travel from island to island or to mainland Greece: when the distance exceeds 120 km. (the restriction does not apply to travel outside the same island)
– Travel within mainland Greece: a distance of more than 120 km is required between the school and the examination centre
– Candidates with disabilities or special educational needs: are entitled to the allowance when travelling to Grading or Special Examination Centres, with the same distances
Note that the allowance is not paid to candidates who only travel for special courses or re-examinations.
What documents are required
After completing the examinations, the candidate or his/her guardian must submit the following documents to the high school where the application was submitted:
– Application to the Directorate of Secondary Education
– Certificate of graduation for the current school year
– Certificate of mileage from the District (except for travel to/from islands)
– Certificate of attendance from the examination or grading centre with reference to the courses and dates
How the compensation is paid
