An alert has been raised bypolice authorities in Thessaloniki after a bloody case unfolded in Malgara, with a man losing his life from shooting.
Investigations are now focused on the Ludia river, where the victim’s body is believed to have been moved and abandoned. Police forces are operating at the scene, while every element that can lead to a full account of what happened on Saturday night is being examined.
A total of four people have been charged in the case by officers of the Directorate for the Suppression of Organized Crime. According to information so far, two of them appear to have confessed to their involvement in the murder and have been arrested.
As the initial evidence from the investigation shows, it all started when three men went to a house in the area, where two other people were also present. Under circumstances that are not yet clear, a heated incident ensued between the bystanders.
According to the same information, one of the men was shot and fell dead. The perpetrators allegedly then placed the body in the trunk of a car and moved to Ludia, where they abandoned it.
Officers are now trying to determine what the cause of the altercation was and whether there were any previous disputes between the parties involved. At the same time, statements and footage from the area are being collected to map the movements of the perpetrators before and after the killing.
